Centre for Housing Research
The aim of the Centre is to improve the management of the social and affordable housing sectors through research and policy advice and the provision of training and information. It enables local authorities to develop a more responsive housing service and provides a focus for greater co-operation with the voluntary and co-operative housing sector and other social housing interests. The Centre has the following specific objectives:

• Commission and conduct research in line with its strategic objectives
• Work with others to identify the training needs of housing practitioners and devise programmes and strategies in response
• Promote a more stretegic approach by local authorities to delivery of their housing management services, having regard to the general policy framework
• Develop links with the voluntary and co-operative housing sector
• Promote best practice in housing management
