School of Applied Social Science

The School of Applied Social Science had its origins in 1934 when the first University courses in Social Science in Ireland were introduced by University College Dublin. The School incorporates the following disciplines: Social Policy, Social Work, and Psychotherapy. Colleagues from these disciplinary backgrounds co-operate to conduct interdisciplinary research in the following areas: Housing, Neighbourhood and Sustainability; Life Course, Health and Well-being; Child, Family, Migration and Demography; Drug Use, Drug Policy and Community; Professional Education and Practice in Social Work, and Psychotherapy.
